Make Art. Make Magic.

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing a step by step guide to creating this art journal page using products from Funky Fossil and Clarity Stamps.
I began by tearing three strips of the pink striped paper, from the Stand Tall paper pad, and glued them to a page in my 8x8 dylusions journal.
Using just one layer of the Going Dotty 2 layer stencil set, I added dots and circles randomly to the background. I used Lisa Horton's Cliud 9 Anthracite ink.
Using the Don't Be Cross stencil with Lisa Horton's Cloud 9 Shocking Pink ink I added some crosses to the page. Next I cut out three pieces of the numbers from the Clear Impressions The Eclectic Edit transparencies and used Cadence Bond and Seal to add them to the page.
I then stamped the lady, from the Smell The Roses stamp set, and the three different individual hearts, from the Clarity Stamps Altered Hearts by Leonie Pujol stamp set, on to cream card. I cut these out leaving a small border.
I added these to the page using foam pads to raise them from the background.
I added one of the sentiments from the transparency pack.
Finally I added some white pen dots and splats to the page.

Be Bold. Be Brave.

Hi everyone,  today I'm sharing an art journal page created using lots of products available from Art Inspirations Dina Wakley Media range.
To begin, I tore a piece of Carnival Wet Strength tissue paper, that had been used to mop up excess ink on another project, so that it would fit my Thé Lamali Carnet Biblio Notebook. I placed this onto my Lusa Horton Tacky Mat so that I could work on it.
Using the Dina Wakley Media Bubbles Coaster stencil, I added salvaged patina distress oxide to the page.
I then, stamped one of the Squared Up stamps using Versafine Clair Bali Blue ink.
Next, I stamped two of another of the Squared Up stamps using Strawberry Versafine Clair ink.
Then, I stamped one of the Let it Fly birds using Sand Dune Versafine Clair ink.
Next, I blended Versafine Clair Strawberry ink through the AALL and Create Lotza Diamonds stencil.
I used Cadence Matte Bond and Seal to adhere my tissue paper to the page. In the process the bird disappeared, so I restarted it using Portobello Versafine Clair ink.
Next, I added two strips of the small circles from the Pattern Play 2 Transparencies.
I carefully tore out one of the faces from the Bold Collage Papers and cut out one of the sentiments from the same pack. These were both glued to the page with Bond and Seal.

Be Not Afraid

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing the first page in my brand new Lamali Sagarmata journal.

To begin cut out two pieces of the Be Not Afraid paper, from the same sheet. Stamp the large circle from Art Inspirations Texture Backgrounds stamp set centrally on the larger piece using Versafine Clair Hawthorn Rose ink. Ink the edges of both pieces using the same ink.

Use foam pads to glue the smaller piece to the right side of the larger piece.
Using Versafine Clair Chianti ink stamp the main image from the Be Not Afraid stamp set. Colour using Polychromos pencil crayons and cut out.
Glue the background to a page in the journal.
Add the cut out image using a mix of wet glue and foam pads.

Cut out a sentiment from the Paper Pad,  ink the edges with a black pen, then stick to the page.

Here's another look at the finished page.

Small Wings

Hi everyone,  today I'm sharing a set of 5 small mixed media projects that have winged things as a theme.
For my first project I have glued an 11 x 7 cm piece of Bee Crafty's A5 Spring Bloom Catalyst Collage paper to a 12 x 8 cm piece of card. I stapled a piece of sari ribbon to the bottom of the catalyst collage paper. I flicked fossilised amber distress spritzer on to the page and went round the edge of the catalyst collage paper with a rusty hinge distress crayon,  this I blended out using a wet paintbrush. I stamped one of the bees from the Bee Monarchy stamp set, on separate card, and coloured it with tumbled glass and mustard seed distress watercolour pencils. I added it to the page along with some flat back gems and a sentiment from the Bee Words Wordy Stickers.

For my second project,  I glued a piece of the A5 spring bloom catalyst collage paper to my piece of card. I added some purple sari silk with staples. I added Villianous Potion distress spritzer splatters and edged the puece with Hocus Pocus distress crayon.  I stamped the muddle size dragonfly, from the Dragonfly stamp set, on to separate card and coloured it with seedless preserve and peacock feathers distress ink. I added this to the background, along with flatback pearls and a sentiment from the Wordy Stickers 1.

For my third project, I did exactly as above but used a carved pumpkin distress crayon and a bird from the Birds and Butterflies regular stamp set. The sentiment is from the Wordy Stickers set 1.

For my fourth project,  I repeated the above steps but used a chipped sapphire distress crayon, a butterfly from the Birds and Butterflies stamp and a sentiment from the Wordy Stickers 1.
For my final project,  I repeated the above steps but used the Bubbling Cauldron distress crayon, another butterfly from the Birds and Butterflies regular stamp set and sequins. The sentiment is from the Wordy Stickers 1.

Products used:
BEE CRAFTY
Sari Silk ribbon
A selection of Distress Crayons
Selection of flatback pearls and sequins

Stamperia All Around

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing a step by step guide to creating this art journal page using Stamperia's All Around Collection.
To begin I cut a piece of the A4 rice paper to fit my page, then glued it in using matte medium.
Next I roughly cut out 2 Sketchy Flowers and the purple/pink stripe from the washi pad and added them to the page, burnishing them well.

Next, I blended Lisa Horton Cloud 9 Tree Bark ink around the edge of the page.
I then chose some of the adhesive ephemera.
To adhere this to the page, I peeled the backing off and chose where I wanted it.

Crack Me Up

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing a step by step guide to creating this art journal page created using AALL and Create's Crack Me Up stamp set with the Reel Haze die set and a paper from the Archive Tales pad.
To begin, cut one of the Archive Tales papers to fit the art journal page. Use a blending tool to edge the piece with Lisa Horton Cloud 9 Tree Bark ink, then glue to the page.
Cut two sets of the Reel Haze die, one in black and one in white. Swap the centres. Put the white frame and black centres aside for another project.
Glue the frame to the page.
Ensure the white pieces are the correct way up to fit back in the frame. Stamp the Crack Me Up birds heads on to each piece using Versafine Clair nocturne ink.
Colour the images and backgrounds. I used distress watercolour pencils and added details with gel pens.
Stick the images in to the frame.
Add a sentiment from the Les Sentiments  pack.
Here's another look at the complete page.

Be Not Afraid Bloom

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing how I've used three more of my apperature gelli print backgrounds (created at the Craft Collective Weekender) with Art Inspirations with Louise Sims Be Not Afraid Collection.

For the first one, the circular gelli print backgrounds, I used the Be not Afraid Bloom stamp and added the coloured area with peacock feathers distress ink. I added the text, circle and square stamps from the Be Not Afraid stamp set. The sentiment is from Clarity Stamps Words Stickers by Leonie Pujol.
For the second one, the background is from a gelli print clean up pull so is quite faint, I've added the Be Not Afraid Bloom stamp and used prize ribbon distress oxide to add the centre part. I've added the text stamp from the Be Not Afraid set.

For the rectangular background I have added the Be Not Afraid Bloom with the text and squares stamps from the Be Not Afraid stamp set.
